Yes, in Minnesota it is the last day of winter. But it never looks like it and most Minnesotans know that and don’t expect it until another month. Even though my IG feed is full of southern friends tending to their gardens and brand new sprouts. Then sadness ensues and I wonder why I live here…in the winter anyway. 😉

I would like to introduce you to Taylor!!! Taylor had her senior session right in the peek of fall, and what a pretty fall it was. As is Miss Taylor.

You are entering into the slide of senior year Taylor!! Hope you are enjoying it!

Did you know that every senior session gets a FREE family session? Well…you do now.

Being an empty nester, I can tell you a few things you will encounter as your kids fly the coop.

You will have a less laundry.

You will have less to buy at the grocery store.

You will go through less toilet paper, keeping it real here.

Your house will be much, much quieter.

You will have a harder time getting your offspring all in one spot, much less when you all looking clean and shinny.

For the record, I would love for my girls to be little and their bedrooms full of toys again, but there is a smallish silver lining in some of the every day things. So, while your children are in the same zip code, get them together for a family pic or two. You won’t regret it, but you probably will if you don’t. It doesn’t take long… a quick session before the senior session is seriously about 20 minutes.

And this is a little look of what you get!

Quick and easy. Except it was ridiculously hot and humid for their session, but I can’t do anything about that. If I could, I would be first in line. I HATE humidity. Then we sent the rest of the family on their way so we could start Montana’s senior session.

Thanks to Montana and her cute family!

Ok, you will get my take on a dad joke with the title of this post in a few seconds.

But remember last week’s post on Megan’s senior session? Aaron is another senior from Parkers Prairie! Hey Aaron!

Aaron knew what he wanted for his senior session, which I LOVE. He knew the type  of locations, his clothing, and he definitely knew he wanted his bike.

He told me about how he races, and while I was intrigued I am also a mom, so I got nervous for him and his momma. I know…let them fly and they will build their wings on the way down. Well….at his session when he put on his racing shirt it was perfect, that is exactly what he does. Fly. He told me that his whole social media is all of him on a bike, him racing his bike, him flying on his bike. Gulp.

Best to you Aaron! Be safe!!

Seriously how cute are these three? Dad had contacted me last fall to do take his sweet little family’s photos. We took these right at the peek of the fall color, and since last fall was one of the best autumns I can remember, the images are perfectly saturated with rich mustard, bright burgundy, and still the lovely green of the grass. Their clothing…spot on. And little adorable, shy and curious Beau….the stars alined.

**Warning** you may want fall family photos now too.

I love that wherever I went, he looked for me. So nosey. So perfect!

I have been doing this for a while now…like 10 years, and whenever I do this shot with the family walking away. The kids ALWAYS turn around. I just have to be ready to catch it.

Thanks Bradley family! It was a pleasure to me you three!!!!

Ah. Pouring through Megan’s senior session from last September makes me so excited for summer. Every year I preach to people that it is still February (hello March tomorrow) in Minnesota that it will still snow, it will still freeze your boogers when you go outside because that is what Minnesota does until May (sometimes April but for sure May). We know this, don’t complain, right? However is anyone like me and since we have had crazy cold temps this winter begging for an early spring? Yeah, I thought so.

So, whenever you book your senior session I will most likely ask you what school you go to. Partly because I am curious, and I also need to know for yearbook deadlines. Each school has different deadlines and some are ridiculously early. So when Megan and her momma contacted me and said they were from Parkers Prairie….I did a double take. Not that it isn’t odd for me to get seniors from all over, even other states but I can say I have never had one from PP, which is weird because Parkers isn’t that far from Alex. What I had discovered years ago when I would attempt marketing in that area, I was told the school used their own selected photographer. So I moved on. But apparently something changed because I had like 4-5 Parkers seniors this year! So YES, I was happy! Because nothing makes me happier than seniors knowing what they like and go to find the perfect fit for their senior photos.

Here is some of my favs from Megan’s senior session. Which like a said Megan’s session was in September. One of my favorite months to shoot. Because the light is gorgeous, temps are cooler and I don’t sweat to death (a benefit for me AND you), and you get the best of two seasons. You can see in her session it looks warm and summery, but then there is some hint of fall in some of the leaves and grasses. Two seasons for one.

Enough chatting from me.

I mean this blue on her….she should wear it every day.
