Hey Jaden!

I totally loved your session. Great outfit choices, wonderful weather, and a perfectly placed watercraft. More on that in a second.

We started at the studio to highlight her love of her sports. She is a busy girl!

I love this top. Seriously.

This is what a perfect August night looks like when we live in Minnesota.

We were taking photos and this dad and his cute little girl were playing on the beach, their canoe beached nearby. He offered us the use of his canoe. I mean even he saw the perfect match of her Sota tee from Kindred People, still lake, cute girl, soft setting sunlight. It was perfect. How Minnesota Nice.

Congratulations on your graduation Jaden!!

Hey Matt, it’s you!

A little birdie told me about your recent accomplishment to play baseball at the MN State HS Baseball Coaches Association All Star series in Chaska, MN. Way to go Matt!!

Usually I don’t travel to far for senior session, but I made it “up north” 😉 to Parkers for Matt’s session so we could incorporate some meaningful locations to him and I got to carpool/chat up a storm with his Aunt/my dance mom friend on the way up so it was a win/win. Wow, that was a lot of backslashes in one sentence.

Here is the triple threat; baseball, football and just a nice kid.

Hope your senior year was a blast Matt! I wish you all the best for a bright future.

Hey Olivia!!!

I did Olivia’s brother’s senior photos a few years ago and I love that they came back for her session session. They don’t live in the area, but have a cabin here. When we did her brother’s session, mom Denise told me they were really looking for something different than what all the kids where they live were doing. Which honestly I get a fair amount of that. Senior and their parents who are looking for something different, something to stand out from their classmates. I love it!

I hadn’t see Olivia since then…a few years ago, and she grew up. Stunning. She is just so beautiful and I loved taking her photos. Just a natural in front of the camera. She loves makeup, simple and dramatic. And she does it well!!!

Olivia wanted to incorporate her love for live music. So she put on an outfit that she would typically wear to concerts. We shot a few frames and I wasn’t familiar with the band on her shirt so I asked her, since I really listen to wide a variety of music. Thinking maybe I would heard something they did. Nope, they are heavy scream-o. I can safely say I would have no clue about that genre. But I think she ROCKED it! And that is what matters! <3 Being you. Bring THAT to your senior session.

And here is her lovely family!

When we have like 9 months of crappy weather, us Minnesotans can really play hard during the other 3. And since we live surrounded by water, chances are we are playing near, on, and in the water. Lakes area loving.

I met this adorable family when I showed up on their doorstep. Usually I have my sessions earlier in the late afternoon, but I decided to hold it a little later. And I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I did. You will see why in a few scrolls.

First I will introduce you to Brogan & Finley. And of course I make siblings get closer than they ever would if they weren’t bribed.

And just warning you giving you a heads up, I will make you and your spouse do PDA for the camera. And it almost always turns out this stinkin’ cute. So promise to trust me. Ok?

Look at those cute kids and that glass like lake.

And this is why I am happy I moved the session later. Golden hour. That hour before the sunsets is just the best light. Ever. Couple that with a still, quiet lake, an adorable, fun family….well, that is the making of some really great images.

What is said on the dock, stays on the dock. 🙂

She was really ready for her close up….luckily so was I.

Thank you John, Jen, Brogan and Fin!

Hey Alayna!

I really enjoyed Alayna’s senior session with her and her mom. The evening was beautiful and we chatted on like we have known each other for a long time. We cruised around town, as well as the golf course just chatting up a storm. Sometimes when this happens, I forget I am still working! Like, ” oh yeah, I have to take photos of you now” in-between our convos of just about everything.

I always have hair envy when I see curly manes like Alayna’s.

And she is committed to the U of M to play golf. So proud of her! I know she will do well.

It is crazy, I have lived here in Alex most of my life and my grandparents were members of the Alex Golf Club for yeeeeears and my brother even caddied there; I had never been on the course. I will let you know, I don’t really golf. Maybe one time a year when my said brother comes to visit. I can hit the ball sort of far, but I have no control of where it goes….sort of like “Nuke” from the movie Bull Durham. I feel like I need to warn others around me when I golf. 🙂

Congratulations Alayna! Graduation is almost here!!!! Thank you for trusting me to capture your senior photos!
