Megan contacted me last year to do her family’s photos when they would be here visiting from a variety of places around the country. Since we live in such a beautiful vacation town, I get these calls a lot. They are always a good time because duh…they are on vacation! And there may or may not be alcohol involved. 😉
Megan also asked me to help with a little surprise her and her hubby Andrew had for their family. They were pregnant! She kind of left it up to me as to how I will reveal their secret. No pressure, Megan! But after thinking about it for a bit. I knew what I wanted to do.
We started the session as I always do, variety of different poses, different configurations. I loved it a one time I asked Mom and Dad if they wanted them with their three children and she said no as Andrew while married to Megan was their kid too. Now having a new and great son in law…I totally get that too. <3
Into the session a bit, I told them to line up. I wanted Megan and Andrew to be on the same plane as the rest so they too could see their reaction when I said, “Ok everyone I want big smiles and repeat ‘Megan and Andrew are pregnant!” There was a pause, an attempt to repeat, then a glance to the happy couple, and then all the good things happened as I rapidly snapped away. There were too many fast moving reactions; cries of happiness, cheers of joy, hugs, high fives :D, and even a dad chase at the end. 😀 I had tears running down my face as well as a happy laugh. I just witnessed the moment mom and dad would be grandma and grandpa, brother and sister would be uncle and auntie, and their family growing in love. My job is a pretty sweet deal most of the time.
